AHEPA 29 Educational Foundation, Inc. Scholarship Program

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

The Scholarship/Grant Program was established to promote, encourage, and advance education at the college or university level.  The purpose of the scholarships/grants is to assist students to continue their education.

I. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

If you are awarded a scholarship/grant from another AHEPA Chapter in theHOUSTON, TEXAS METROPOLITAN AREA (AHEPA Family Chapter) (“Other Award”), any scholarship/grant awarded to you under this program will be reduced by the amount of the Other Award. Please update your application information if you are awarded additional scholarships/grants.
In order to be eligible for a scholarship/grant, the applicant must reside in the HOUSTON, TEXAS METROPOLITAN AREA and meet eligibility requirement A or B below:

A. (i) A member of the Sons of Pericles, Maids of Athena, Daughters of Penelope, or AHEPA; or
(ii) The son or daughter of an AHEPA Family member in good standing (current year dues paid).

B. The applicant or one of their parents must be a member in good standing of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Houston, Texas.

C. Applicants not meeting the requirements of A or B above may apply but any award will be based on the availability of funds, if any. Graduate School students are encouraged to apply but priority is given to students pursuing undergraduate degrees. Grants to graduate school students may be awarded if funds are available.

II. CREDENTIALS

Additional information to be emailed/submitted along with the completed application (originals are not needed, copies are acceptable). The application and all information must be emailed.

A. Graduating High School students must submit High School Transcript and SAT/ACT scores.
B. College students must submit copy of College Transcript.
C. Graduate students must submit college transcript and graduate school transcript.
D. All applicants must submit a photo.
E. AHEPA Family membership application, optional.

III. RECEIPT OF APPLICATION WILL BE ACKNOWLEDGED

Upon emailing your Application, you will receive a reply email confirming receipt of your application. If you do not receive a reply, your Application was not received.

IV. AWARD AND ACCEPTANCE OF SCHOLARSHIP/GRANT

Applicants will be notified by email of the results of their application. In addition, Scholarship/Grant recipients will be notified of the date and time of the awards ceremony. If the recipient is not able to attend the ceremony, a family member or close friend MUST attend to accept the award. No checks will be mailed and no award distributed after the awards ceremony. Any recipient who fails to be represented at the awards ceremony will forfeit their award.
